Master’s Swimming
I grew up participating in competitive swimming for the majority of my life. After the Covid-19 pandemic occurred I made the decision to focus on my academics and not swim in college. Although I continued swimming for fun on my own, I missed swimming with a group of individuals who also shared a similar passion for swimming. So I decided to join the U.S. Masters swim team at my local pool.
Since joining I have enjoyed getting to meet and interact with new people, as well as challenging myself to reach personal swim goals for fun rather than for the sake of competition.
Sports Team Videographer
When I was in high school I volunteered to put together an end of season video for various sports teams. Since then I have continued working with other local sports team to create end of season videos that commemorate the season. I have enjoyed getting to grow and develop my skills as a videographer and having a creative outlet to lean into. I benefited greatly from learning new skills and technique pertaining to video editing as well as getting to motivate the members on a sports team by showcasing key moments from the season.
K9s For Warriors
I first attended a training class to help care for puppies back in early 2020, when my brother expressed an interest in volunteering at this organization. Through volunteering we were able to help the K9s for Warriors achieve its mission of supporting military veterans suffering from PTSD. Although my time volunteering at this organization was interrupted during the pandemic, I still benefited greatly from volunteering. I learned about the importance of giving back to others and I enjoyed knowing that one small gesture can have a positive impact on another person’s life.
